Over the past couple years the girls have been learning how to embroider. The progress is slow since we don’t get it out regularly and I like to be there to supervise. It keeps us from having to undo large sections later. Adeline seems to be at the right age and can go at it for longer periods of time with fewer mistakes. Also, she gets great satisfaction from her progress. They mostly work it on it at night as Chris reads us The Hobbit, or more recently, Lord of the Rings. Aiden has been bugging me to join in since I sit between the two girls and he apparently feels left out. I finally set him up with a denim scrap and used a marker to make the smiley face for him to follow for his first project. He surprised me with his understanding and determination to finish….
