If you are on my email list then you know we got a foster baby on July 21. It has been 5 1/2 weeks. I can’t really put pictures of her on the internet, but I can email them out because email is secure. Email me or comment if you didn’t get the initial announcement with photos. It has been a whirlwind to be sure, but a good one. The babe will be 11 month old this week. (9 1/2 months when we got her.) We are all in love with this new little life in our family. It may or may not lead to adoption, but we figure God knows her future and at least for now she is meant to be a part of our family. We foresee having her at least through February 2011, but if her aunt gets approved to care for her then she could leave sooner too. The whole situation hasn’t happened the way we anticipated, but it has still been good. On Tuesday, July 20 we got the call asking about the possibility and we had her by the following evening. We didn’t expect a baby as we were open to older children, as long as they were younger than Aiden. However, she had/has some medical issues so the pool of people to pick from was smaller, I think. She keeps us busy and it is strange going back to the baby stage after so much independence (with bigger kids). Our house is messier, I have more appointments on the calendar for her, and we love her. She is beautiful, smiley, happy, energetic, a true sweetie pie. She is thriving in our home and on a good eating and sleeping schedule. This was lacking in her life and linked to us getting her in the first place. Her medical issues have been non-issues and she seems as healthy as any baby her age, just tiny. Praise the Lord!
1st hike with a stroller in years. (No, Chris didn’t change to the Army. He “won” this shirt doing push-ups at an army booth when we attended the rodeo.)
Fun kids day. Aiden in the tire of a bouncy truck before getting shooed out.
Making Mac & Cheese…all by himself!
1st day of soccer practice excitement! All 3 kids are playing so things are pretty busy right now. We’ve never had all 3 in something like this at once. It may be the only time, but they love it!
In their garden/restaurant or whatever it changes into each day.
Imagine 100 other cute baby pictures too, it severely limits my photo pick opportunities not to put her on the internet.
Fair entry made all by herself. It is a carousel and it was entered in the “collections” category. The little wooden animals are from a nice man in our church whose hobby is woodworking. Each week the kids at church get a little wooden animal. Made with love.
All excited about a new school year. We are trying something very new this year…school on DVDs. They felt like it was Christmas the day we received these seven boxes. I thought that was the whole shipment until I began examining the contents and realized there are things missing. I expect more within a day or two. Eeek. I need to make room in the home school room!
One of her fair entries. Our friends (you know who you are!) emailed us this cute Spaghetti & Meatballs cupcake idea. She practiced once last week and this week did it fully alone (with only verbal guidance & reminders) for the actual entry.
Proud of her final product! If it doesn’t win I think it will be because we used store icing.
She is very inquisitive….
